DESCRIPTION:December 2\, 2021 9:30am – 3:00 pm ET (Virtual Workshop) Registration (required): Click here to register. \n\n\n\n\nClick here to view the agenda.  \n\n\n\nThe Eastern Regional Network’s (ERN) Broadening the Reach Working Group is pleased to launch the first in a series of workshops in support of leveraging the cloud in research.  \n\n\n\nThe virtual workshop is bringing together researchers\, faculty\, research computing and central IT professionals\, as well as other institutional stakeholders\, including students and administrators\, to share information and facilitate discussions about successful implementation of the cloud for research from the researcher and institutional perspectives. The workshop will include the following distinct sessions: \n\n\n\nIntroduction to the Cloud for ResearchChallenges and opportunities in leveraging the cloud for research projects\, featuring NSF-Funded\, Exploring Clouds for Acceleration of Science (E-CAS) projectsInstitutional support and onboarding for research in the cloudFunding onboarding of research in the cloudTools\, resources\, and support available for cloud implementation\n\n\n\nPlease feel free to forward to appropriate members of your organization. \n\n\n\nWe also invite you and your colleagues to participate in the pre-workshop survey\, developed by the ERN BTR working group\, designed to help identify perceived challenges and opportunities for leveraging the cloud for research at participating institutions\, and to use the knowledge from the survey to develop strategies and identify resources\, including additional workshops\, to address the needs. Only members of the ERN Broadening the Reach working group will have access to the information provided in response to survey questions\, and individual responses will be kept private and secure. Participants will have the opportunity to remain anonymous.  Please note\, please plan to take a few moments to complete the survey prior to the workshop and preferably by November 29\, even if you are not able to participate in the workshop\, your input is important to us.” \n\n\n\nThis workshop is hosted by the ERN Broadening the Reach Working Group.
